Dermajuv Wrinkle Cream - Affiliate Program Growing

I’ve had some early success with the Dermajuv Anti-Wrinkle cream affiliate program.  Dermajuv is an anti wrinkle cream and age defying serum, designed to help you look younger.  I recommend anyone with traffic in that realm to direct it towards their program.  It converts!!!

Mark Robbins, the affiliate director, has helped grow the affiliate base exponentially.  Currently Dermajuv is growing at a rapid pace, and he reports they expect big things going into the Holiday Season.

Google Tools - In depth reviews and information (Cont’d)

Here is an excerpt of a great article I found written by Christina Laun.  I’ve been covering the various developments of Google and their applications/tools updates pretty heavily.  This article adds a lot of insight to my prior postings.  I’ll be posting this in bits and pieces in order not to inundate everyone with too much information for one day.

These Google products can make the most basic of computing tasks easy and are a must for any Google devotee.

  1. Reader: Reader is a Web-based news aggregator that reads Atom and RSS feeds to allows users to easily subscribe, organize and share news items. It even has a mobile version allowing you to get your news on the go.
  2. iGoogle: Create a custom designed home page with iGoogle. Users can choose to have their Gmail accounts, calendars, weather, news and more all integrated on one main page they can see when they open their browser. The site also offers a wide number of themes for further customization.
  3. Picasa: This Google program makes it easy to manage your photos online and off. Users can download a photo editing and management program to their desktops which makes it easy to mail, upload or post photos to a blog or they can use the online albums provided by the program.
  4. Docs: You no longer need desktop publishing applications installed on your computer to type out documents or create spreadsheets, you can do it entirely online with Google. The services allow users to create, publish, share and collaborate on their documents and presentations, and best of all, they’re available on any computer with an Internet connection.
  5. Notebook: Research can be easier with this Web clipping application from Google. It makes it simple to clip text, images, and links from pages while researching and then save, retrieve or share the clips later.
  6. Desktop: Make it easy to find everything on your desktop with this application from Google. It allows users to search through their email, computer files, music, photos, chats, and web history to find what they need and also allows them to install useful gadgets to their desktops.

Google Tools continues to grow, and I’m excited for what they come up with next!

Web Traffic Explodes!

With the 2008 Presidential election ocurring TODAY, web traffic is exploding.  Portals like CNN, FOX, and other large audience websites are hitting record numbers!!!  It wil certainly be an interesting race, and we’ll continue to monitor the results as the election continues.

Josh’s Frogs Affiliate Program

I was messing around on a forum today evaluating affiliate programs, and I came across one that was just downright hysterical, to me at least.  Josh’s Frogs affiliate program pays YOU for selling people poisonous frogs.  Now, I’m not  a lawyer nor do I know the legalities involved with this, but this is just downright intriguing.  Some questions I plan on sending Josh, just for the goof, include:

  • Where are these frogs caught?  They had to originally be caught somewhere exotic, like Costa Rica.
  • What happens if one gets loose?  Will an exterminator know what to do?
  • Can you pet them?  Or are they like kryptonite?
  • How high can they jump?
  • What kind of snacks do they like?  I wouldn’t know where to find a “poisonous frog food store,” even in Miami.
  • Do they reproduce, or if they touch each other do they just die?

I hate to be nieve or poke fun at anyones business, but this was just downright fascinating to me.  If anyone out there is an affiliate of this program and rocks frogs all day long, I’d like to know how much money your banking!!!

Affiliate Conventions - Great Networking Opportunity

I’ve attended many affiliate conventions.  Miami, Las Vegas, San Jose, the list goes on.  Even if you aren’t involved in any affiliate programs that have booths at the conventions, its well worth the fee to attend.  Mainly, you can mingle, party, socialize, what-have-you, with like-minded business people.  You will meet people selling products, people selling services, and people who offer payment gateways.  All in all, it’s a diverse blend of people who may have something you are looking for.  I met a web design team at  a convention in Hollywood, Florida, and I’ve worked with them ever since for all my web projects.  I met Vladimir Shundrovskiy, principal of SoftAddicts: …..ever since, we’ve been collaborating on web projects in many different niches.  I also met Brad Konia, who owns Hostland.com:  If you’ve noticed, they are both listed on my tools page.  Creating lifelong business contacts like Vlad and Brad is priceless.

The next convention I’m thinking of attnending is the Affiliate Summit, in Las Vegas.  It’s January 11th - 13th at the Rio Hotel & Casino.  For more information, visit www.AffiliateSummit.com.  This event is rather pricey, but WELL worth the price of admission.

A Great Linking Debate On a Blog

For those who are always up for discussion about linking tactics, I found a great debate online where the author of “wannanetwork” argues with Zillow.com.  Wannanetwork is a networking hotspot for real estate professionals.  Zillow is a real estate information source that helps people do research and gather market information.  A link to the debate is right here.  Enjoy.

Using Google Maps for Real Estate Shopping…

So I’m still doing a lot of reporting on all the tools Google has to offer these days….I’m quite impressed with what I’ve ran into.  Recently I spent some time on Google Maps.  Check out my thoughts in the following paragraphs….

Google maps has to be one of the coolest of the Google tools yet.  I was recently looking at an area in Orlando for a friend of mine, as a favor….trying to find out the pro’s and con’s of purchasing a depressed condo.  I went to Google Maps, and found a plethora of information.  Not only can you get a street view of the exact address you input, but you can also survey the area.  Just click on the arrows and take a stroll down the street.  The maps conjure up ACTUAL images of the addresses inputed!!! It is incredible.  Go ahead and input addresses of cities you’ve always dreamed of visiting, and VOILA!  There you have it…images!!!  Sometimes you even get cars and people that were there the day the satellites surveyed the area, which is quite comical at times!

While helping out my friend in the condo example, I was able to visit the commercial plaza’s the realtors had pointed out that had all the amenities my friend was looking for.  I could get a birds eye view of the plaza, find out the exact business names, and see if they were clean! It really is a necessary tool in all real estate needs and can make a cross-country move that much easier  Do yourself a favor, and take a tour for yourself at Google Maps.

Google G1 Phone Coming Out Soon…

Google’s G1 phone will hit stores next week.  According to early reviews, they have an uphill battle if they want to take market share from the Blackberry and Apple’s phenomenon, the Iphone.  The device, manufactured by HTC, was called a “worthy competitor” to the Iphone, by the Wall Street Journal’s Walter Mossberg.  Other reviews differ.

The New York Times’s David Pogue described the handset’s Android platform as “polished enough to give Windows Mobile an inferiority complex the size of Australia.” Yet Pogue’s scorecard similarly illustrated that the G1 isn’t perfect. He gave it an A-minus for software, a B-minus for phone capabilities and a B-minus for network capabilities.

Avi Greengart, mobile device research director at Current Analysis, came to a similar conclusion on the G1 — calling it an iPhone “challenger” that “falls short in every area.”

The early reviews come as the mobile phone industry is seeking to come to grips with an influx of powerful, new devices. That’s driven in part by competition: wireless carriers are finding themselves relying on increasingly advanced smartphones to woo more subscribers and increase revenue from lucrative non-voice services, like Web access. T-Mobile is the exclusive G1 carrier and AT&T is currently the exclusive iPhone network in the U.S.

Among those new consumer-oriented devices is the Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) iPhone, which has rocketed in popularity since its debut a year ago and sparked a trend in consumer handsets toward touchscreens and easy access to third-party applications.

Not surprisingly, the iPhone also spawned a slew of competitors, among which the Google-backed Android platform is one of the most closely watched.

Hits and misses

And despite some initial criticism, the G1’s early reviewers still find a good deal about it to praise.

“This is a competitive product,” Greengart told InternetNews.com, noting G1’s “beautiful” touchscreen. The G1 features a 3.2-inch LCD flat touch-sensitive screen with 320 x 480 resolution. The iPhone has 3.5-inch widescreen, multi-touch display with 480 x 320 resolution.

Greengart also complimented the G1’s Web browsing capability — built off the same engine as the iPhone’s, he said — and its GPS application that provides real-time street views for navigation.

On the downside, Greengart wasn’t impressed with the G1’s girth, describing it as “heavier and bulkier” than the iPhone. The G1 weighs in at 5.6 ounces, and is 4.6 inches tall, 2.16 inches wide and.62 inches in thickness. Apple’s iPhone weighs 4.7 ounces and measures 4.5 inches in length, 2.4 inches wide and .48 inches thick.

Greengart also noted that the G1 offers no easy way to sync with non-Google mail applications, such as Microsoft Outlook, which enterprise users may find frustrating. The latest edition of the iPhone connects to Microsoft Exchange for access to e-mail, calendar and contacts.

“What Android does offer with the G1 is [smartphone development] potential, and some of these [downsides] will hopefully change with development going forward,” Greengart said.

It’s that potential that some say could result in Google (NASDAQ: GOOG) ultimately striding ahead of Apple and other smartphone players, such as Research in Motion (NASDAQ: RIMM), Palm (NASDAQ: PALM), Nokia (NYSE: NOK) and Motorola (NYSE: MOT), in the battle for smartphone sales and mobile service revenue.

Experts have lauded Google’s Android platform for being one of the most open to date in smartphone development. Both the search giant and T-Mobile have promised they will not control third-party applications and development efforts — allowing even Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) applications such as Skype. In contrast, Apple’s iPhone is tightly controlled when it comes to application deployment, as is RIM’s BlackBerry platform.

“Google needs to nurture the development community and provide tools and support for Android [to be a smartphone leading platform],” Greengart said, adding Google “needs to stay true to its promise of complete transparency.”

In the meantime, the G1, the first of a slew of Android-based handsets expected within the next year, is the perfect smartphone for Google fans, Greengart said — given how it provides easy access to Google’s online services. In fact, G1 buyers must set up a Google account to activate the smartphone. Users of the current-generation iPhone, meanwhile, need to establish an account with Apple’s music store, iTunes, for accessing music, video and third-party applications.

In his review this week Mossberg said the G1’s physical keyboard — which the iPhone lacks — is the “biggest differentiator” between the two handsets. The G1 has a slide-out, five-row QWERTY keyboard, while the iPhone offers an on-screen keyboard.

Yet Mossberg called the G1 a “very good first effort” that will appeal to T-Mobile customers, as the carrier currently does not offer any other touchscreen smartphones.

The iPhone still reigns as the top multimedia smartphone, Mossberg added, noting the G1’s music player, “while adequate, isn’t as nice” as the iPhone’s built-in iPod functionality. He also noted the G1’s lack of a built-in video player, although a “rudimentary” one can be downloaded from the Android Market store for third-party applications.

Overall, Mossberg described the G1 as chiefly appealing to users who either want to stay with T-Mobile or who want a physical keyboard, “but want to be part of the new world of powerful pocket computers.”

In his review the Times’s Pogue also takes Google to task over the G1’s music features, writing that it’s where Android “really falls down.” To transfer music to the device, G1 users must sync the device to a PC and manually drag and drop files from their computers.

Pogue also called the G1 “homelier” than the iPhone, which — like many wares from the Cupertino, Calif.-based Apple — has received high marks for its sleek product design.

“Nobody looks at G1 and says, ‘Ooooh, I gotta have that,’” he wrote.
